At bedtime, lying next Ella, she picks out a book to read to me (while I pretend to be listening but am really falling asleep)
The book she choose was Amelia Bedelia (saves the day or something) on the cover is an emblem denoting that is the 40th anniversary of Amelia books. Ella reads the title and then the starburst emblem and says
E: Mom... look... she is 40 and she does not have any wrinkles!
Me: (as I groggily look up) What?
E: She is 40 and doesn't have one wrinkle.
Me: Ella are you saying that I am 40 and I DO have wrinkles?
E: Well you do.
Me: Yes I know I do, but you should not really point out wrinkles on people's faces.
Me: 40 year olds don't like it.
E: Sorry. How about your chin, can I talk about your chin?
Me: What do you mean?
E: Well you chin is cute. It looks like dad's after he shaves.
Me: What???!!??
E: Well, your chin is shiny and smooth but has lots of spots, like daddy's after he shaves. (then she points at my chin) Like here, and here, and then you have these cute red lines (my wonderful 40 year old rosacea lines).
Me: No, 40 years olds don't like that too.
E: Well, i still like your chin.
